Position Summary

Operate, adjust, and maintain control of process equipment to ensure dehydration of raw product. Ensure all product specifications are met (e.g. color, slice thickness, and moisture). Maintain dryer efficiency by performing routine inspections (e.g. even product bed, all fans are functioning, temperature set points, apron speeds, and etc.).

Position Responsibilities

• Prepare dryer for production at the start-up of raw product delivery.
• Shut-down dryer process equipment after finishing dehydrating process.
• Make continual adjustments and monitor dehydration through all stages of drying.
• Adjust control flow of raw product throughout dryers
• Perform periodic inspections of knives and de-watering augers.
• Maintain onion flow to dryers by monitoring basket levels, DC auger, and Water Transfer Pump.
• Make continual adjustments to stage temperatures while monitoring quality of drying product.
• Provide relief to all dehy onion positions as needed or requested by the lead or management.
• Perform periodic inspections of all stages of dryers. Including D-Stages in Onion Milling Area.
• Maintain accurate and legible dryer logs.
• Communicate any issues in the Onion Dehy area to the Dehy Lead, Supervisors, and Management as needed.
• Assist Lead with troubleshooting, repairing equipment, unplugging material, and maintaining communication with maintenance.
• Maintain communication with Milling Lead and Blue Jay Operator with regards to onion flow.
• Must be multi-task oriented.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe, healthy work environment by following all safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations per the Company's IIPP, GMP's, job safety practices and other related programs.
• Ability to comply with PPE: bump cap, safety glasses, face shield, boots, rubber boots, gloves, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned per job responsibilities.
  
  

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid driver license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Any Production or Manufacturing experiences is a plus.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed
• Work and rotate all shifts
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
• Work and rotate all work areas in specific department
• Must have good attendance and work record (Existing Employees)
  
  

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $23.50/hr. and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
