Position Summary
The 100-Ton Mate supports the Captain in the safe operation, navigation, and maintenance of company vessels in support of Offshore Aviation operations. This position requires strong seamanship, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence in near-shore and offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Stand navigational watch while underway, alternating with the Captain and other Mate, maintaining situational awareness and ensuring safe vessel operations in coastal, restricted, and offshore waters.
- Assist with vessel navigation, voyage planning, speed and course management, and compliance with applicable maritime regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise deck operations and deck crew activities to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain navigational charts, publications, logs, and voyage documentation
- Conduct routine inspections and assist with preventative maintenance of vessel systems, deck equipment, firefighting equipment, lifesaving appliances, radios, and emergency systems
- Participate in and lead emergency response drills and exercises in support of company and regulatory safety requirements
- Promote a strong safety culture through compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and maritime regulations
- Support cargo, passenger, and recovery operations as required
- Maintain vessel cleanliness, readiness, and overall operational condition

Qualifications
- Valid maritime credentials appropriate for the position
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence
- Ability to work rotational schedules and extended offshore assignments as required
- Ability to meet the company's physical and medical requirements for vessel operations
Licenses & Credentials
- USCG 100-Ton Master or Mate License with appropriate route endorsements
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
- Current STCW certification
- Current USCG Medical Certificate
- Radar Observer / ARPA endorsements preferred or required as applicable
- Valid TWIC card preferred or required
Experience
- Experience operating or supporting small to medium tonnage vessels
- Offshore, near-shore, recovery, or marine support operations experience preferred
- Experience working in safety-sensitive environments preferred
Security & Compliance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to complete pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening in accordance with USCG and company requirements
