We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Driver Education Recruiter to join our team, with the primary responsibility of recruiting, vetting, and onboarding qualified driving instructors across the states of Michigan and Ohio. This critical role is essential for maintaining and expanding our capacity to provide high-quality driver education services to students throughout the region.
Candidate Qualities:
- 3 years of experience in Human Resources and Recruiting

Responsibilities
- Instructor Sourcing and Outreach:
- Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies specifically targeting individuals with the qualifications and desire to become driving instructors
- Utilize various sourcing channels, including job boards, social media, career fairs, educational institutions, professional networks, and targeted outreach to relevant industries (e.g., retired teachers, transportation professionals).
- Establish and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates.
- Candidate Screening and Vetting:
- Review applications and resumes to determine if candidates meet the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) and company requirements for driving instructors.
- Conduct initial phone and in-person/virtual interviews to assess candidate experience, communication skills, passion for safety, and fit for the role.
- Coordinate and manage background checks, driving record checks (BMV), and other prerequisite screenings.
- Onboarding and Compliance:
- Guide selected candidates through the Ohio licensing process, providing necessary documentation and support to obtain their Driving Instructor License.
- Collaborate with the training department to schedule and track candidates' completion of required instructor training programs.
- Ensure all recruitment and onboarding practices adhere to company policies, as well as state and federal employment laws.
- Relationship Management:
- Represent the company professionally at recruitment events and meetings.
- Administrative and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Provide regular reports on recruitment metrics, including pipeline status, time-to-hire, and regional instructor needs.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years of experience in high-volume recruiting, preferably in the transportation, education, or service industry.
- Proven success in recruiting for roles that require specific state licensing or certification is a significant plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to attend recruitment events, as needed.
