To qualify for the position of Physical Security Specialist, at GS-0080-12/13, you must meet the specialized experience stated below.
For The GS-12
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service
implementing strict entry/exit protocols to individuals with proper clearances; and monitors physical security systems, to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), access control systems, CCTV and video surveillance or a security alarm monitoring system.
For The GS-13
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service reviewing design, construction and/or accreditation of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility; implements strict entry/exit protocols to individuals with proper clearances; and utilizing physical security systems, to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), access control systems, CCTV and video surveillance or a security alarm monitoring system.
You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 05/28/2026 of this announcement.
Selection may be made at any grade level, with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. Non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade based on time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the higher graded duties.

- Responsible for planning, implementation, oversight, and assessment of secure facilities used for storage, processing, and discussion of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Ensures facilities comply with Intelligence Community security standards governing Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
- Designs, reviews, construction security oversight, accreditation documentation, inspection programs, and implementation of physical security controls protecting national security information.
Conditions of employment
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
