Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.

- Assisting in researching and compiling data related to healthcare, public health, or health IT.
- Supporting data preparation and basic analysis using analytic or statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS, or STATA).

- Contributing to the development of reports, presentations, or web sites based on data analysis.
- Supporting the formulation of findings and recommendations based on analysis under guidance.
- PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

- Develops, designs and conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis on a range of health care, public health, or HIT topics to inform decisions about policy development and/or program improvement.
- Regularly conducts analysis in a programming or statistical software suite.
- Clearly and concisely presents the findings of analytical products to policy makers and non-technical audiences.
- Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with ONC and HHS colleagues, as well as counterparts in other Federal agencies and relevant stakeholders.
- Understand and communicates trade-offs and risks using certain data sets to provide varying levels of insights and decisions.
