Description
Boulder County Department of Social Services has an opening for a 75% time Legal Technician B to perform non-routine and complex technical legal duties in the Investigation and Recovery Unit. This position is located in the Longmont Office.
Examples of Duties
Duties will include: interviewing clients, caseworkers, and other professionals within the community to obtain information concerning Social Security benefit eligibility for children in foster care; assisting in the preparation of documents and cases for presentation in court hearings; negotiating the repayment of funds from the Aid to the Needy and Disabled Program when clients are approved for Social Security benefits; negotiating repayment of Social Security benefits or adoption subsidy after a child has been placed into foster care; referring cases for legal action; maintaining a database system with client information; answering inquires and working with clients to provide information regarding their case; and performing related work as required.
Required Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of administrative support experience to include one year performing eligibility determination, legal secretarial work or other related work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must undergo a background investigation.
