This position is responsible for the direct planning and execution of complex audits performed through a subordinate staff of professional employees. The position is assigned to the Audit staff and works under the supervision of the Director, Audit.
Qualifications:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Developing and performing audits that conform with professional, regulatory, or quality standards/requirements; OR
- Experience working in a tax administration organization that has been applied in documenting results of audits or projects; AND
- Developing draft or final reports, memoranda or other written products.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Responsibilities:
As an Supervisory Auditor (Performance), you will:- Develop overall work plans, strategies, and objectives, including priorities for the multiple audits conducted by the group.
- Provide leadership for particular audits by directing and coordinating audits, either directly or through the Lead Auditor, assigned to subordinates to ensure that work objectives are accomplished in compliance with procedural, administrative, and audit standard requirements with a continual emphasis on the need for quality and timeliness in all areas.
- Review and finalize audit memoranda and reports which are timely, well written, complete, and supportive of the findings.
- Conduct group meetings disseminating and communicating to subordinates significant information that is received through monitoring and liaisons.
- Develop and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all parties in TIGTA and the IRS; foster a positive employee relations climate, meet with staff members to communicate TIGTA and IRS goals, commitments, and to promote positive staff morale.
Salary : $116,393 - $172,075
