COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This position is not in a collective bargaining unit.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Public Safety and Justice Cluster (PSJC), Department of Corrections (DOC). The incumbent will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and verifying employee timesheets each pay period for accuracy and compliance with established leave and pay policies and procedures.  Duties include, but are not limited to; receiving, examining, and processing complex payroll authorization documents for proper payment; auditing pay and leave accounts to identify and correct delinquent and/or erroneous personnel actions or timekeeping errors; maintaining payroll records for all agency employees; reviewing time and attendance documents and preparing all required payroll reports; forwarding all time and attendance forms to D.C. Office of Pay and Retirement Services for processing; monitoring all timekeepers to ensure that they are adequately trained; advising human resources and time and attendance on pay and leave issues; approving time in PeopleSoft payroll system; and processing supplementary papers affecting employees pay and coding errors.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's degree* or (2) two years of general work experience performing duties related to providing administrative, clerical and/or financial support.
 
*If qualifying based on education, applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies a Bachelor's degree.  If applicable, your application package must include a U.S. evaluation of all foreign transcripts.   Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).

Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.

Employment with the OCFO is at will.  However, the discipline and/or discharge of bargaining unit employees is governed by the collective bargaining agreement.

SALARY REDUCTION OF REEMPLOYED ANNUITANTS: 
 
An individual selected for employment in the District Government on or after January 1, 1980, who is receiving an annuity under any District government civilian retirement system, shall have his or her pay reduced by the amount of annuity allocable to the period of employment as a reemployed annuitant.
