For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Conducting analytical studies and research projects using statistical, scientific, or machine learning methods, including designing or evaluating Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled analytical approaches; AND
- Defining technical requirements and establishing methodological frameworks for analytical initiatives and AI prototyping efforts; AND
- Developing and implementing data driven solutions and leading or contributing to the development, testing, and deployment of AI models, prototypes, and tools to support organizational decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Analytics.As a Supervisory Statistician (Data Scientist), you will:
- Develop and apply statistical methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance products, processes, and systems.
- Apply statistical and mathematical analysis to identify trends, solve analytics problems, optimize performance and processes, and gather intelligence. This includes evaluating opportunities to use machine learning and AI-enabled analytical methods.
- Lead communication and collaboration with TTB (in various levels of the organization) to analyze and scope the technical and policy requirements needed to implement analytics projects.
