General Definition of Work
The human capital management (HCM) enterprise resource planning (ERP) architect, under limited supervision, performs highly complex work with limited decision-making discretion related to the technical implementation and maintenance of the district’s Oracle Cloud ERP solution. Position is responsible for providing technical services as the district transitions from Lawson to Oracle Cloud, with a primary focus on HCM implementation and production support. Technical services include architecture/design, system configuration, integration, conversion, and reporting design and development, security and controls, testing, training, and maintenance. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Executive Director of IT & Business Applications.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for Oracle Cloud HCM solutions and support HCM enterprise application systems with accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate user, role, and application access
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the new Oracle Cloud HCM solution
- Oversee data security, integrity, backup procedures, and standards
- Collaborate to monitor, research, recommend, and implement optimization/tuning strategies for efficient database, schema, and query resources and underlying infrastructure as needed
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, software, techniques, migrations, and upgrades
- Partner with technology delivery teams and engineers to architect HCM/database environments/solutions, monitor and analyze database performance for any additional solutions required
- Identify areas of improvement and research, recommend, and implement actions as approved
- Develop and enforce standards for database and application security in Oracle HCM Cloud
- Collaborate to execute database backup and recovery functions as needed
- Plan and implement new Oracle Cloud HCM software releases
- Lead and participate in research and development efforts involving new technologies, application development tools, software products, and training for possible use in supporting modernization efforts
- Participate in the planning and management of interface development to allow purchased applications software to operate efficiently and accurately
- Develop and deliver professional development and other training resources
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Participate in professional development workshops and training

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system technology requirements
- Comprehensive of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system technology
- Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle Cloud HCM software development, application maintenance and system analysis
- Thorough Knowledge of Oracle data security and relational integrity issues and methods including having experience in performing these activities in Oracle
- Skilled in cross-organization architecture with Enterprise systems data; this includes roles, identity, synchronization, periodicity, inter- and intra-database relationships, as well as authoritative source of overlapping/related/intersecting data across the Enterprise
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously using project management best practices
- Ability to identify opportunities for development and implementation of new products
- Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
- Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Oracle HCM Cloud preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation.
