This position is locatined in the Office of NPS Liaison to the White House, in the White house and President park division.

• You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
• You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
• Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
• You will be considered emergency/essential personnel.
• You must be capable of lifting 50 or more pounds.

Responsibilities:

The major duties of the position Gardener include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide proper care and maintenance for lawns, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Prunes and trims trees and shrubs to obtain the shape, size and desired growth characteristics, and to
  remove diseased limbs or excess branches.
• Computes quantities of plants, seeds, and other materials needed for specific areas.
• Cuts grass and trims hedges using either hand or power equipment.
