This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (l&A), Deputy Under Secretary for Partnerships (DUS/P), Engagement Liaison Office (ELO), Liaison Officer Branch (LNO).

- Knowledge of DHS I&A homeland security mission and the role of intelligence in the relationship between I&A, the DHS Components, and the IC.

Responsibilities:
I&A maintains a formal LNO Program composed of experienced I&A intelligence professionals assigned to organizations across the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Intelligence Enterprise (IE), the Intelligence Community (IC), the federal law enforcement (LE) community, and the Department of Defense (DoD). The LNO Program is designed to enhance communication and coordination and improve the multi-directional flow of information by meeting mutual intelligence needs of DHS and interagency partners. The LNO Program also provides for professional development and broadening opportunities to I&A employees.
The LNO Program is designed to enhance communication and coordination and improve this multi-directional information flow by meeting mutual intelligence needs of DHS and interagency partners. LNOs play a vital role in sharing information and equipping DHS with timely intelligence it needs to keep the homeland safe, secure, and resilient. In addition to supporting the efforts of I&A, LNOs assigned across the federal interagency support the interactions of their Host Organization with all DHS Components and Offices. LNOs are expected to represent l&A and DHS in a professional manner to all levels of leadership.
I&A LNOs maintain access to the proper Host Organization systems to conduct activities that support the Host Organization's interactions with DHS. These activities focus on facilitating the bi-directional flow of information between I&A and the Host Organization and include:
- Serving as the senior I&A Representative to the Host Organization;
- Providing subject matter expertise, advice, and assistance on I&A matters to the Host Organization;
- Developing a thorough knowledge of and building relationships across the Host Organization to develop understanding on how that organization can work with l&A and the DHS IE;
- Educating the Host Organization on the DHS I&A mission, capabilities, requirements, product lines, systems, tools, and production processes;
- Keeping the Host Organization apprised of I&A activities and priorities and leveraging their resources and expertise to support I&A mission activities;
- Assisting the Host Organization and staff with developing intelligence plans and strategies, and creating intelligence opportunities to counter threats to the Homeland;
- Attending LNO meetings on a routine basis and regularly updating l&A leadership on relevant activities; and
- Identifying opportunities within the I&A intelligence production process to include Host Organization information and opportunities for joint seal productions.
- Coordinate and leverage l&A expertise and authorities to facilitate visibility, collaboration, integration of all engagements and initiatives between I&A and the Host Organization;
- Maintain visibility on the breadth and depth of I&A initiatives and engagements with their Host Organization, including recognized governance bodies (i.e., Homeland Security Intelligence Council, I&A Corporate Management Board), to keep I&A informed;
- Facilitate associated support activities and engagements within and across I&A.
Salary : $117,962
