The salary ranges listed in this Job Control may not reflect reductions in pay in accordance with the 2025 Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025). Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the PLP 2025 which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract this position is related to.
Under the general direction of the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) Chief Deputy Director, directly and through subordinate managers the Deputy Director of Administrative Services is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all activities related to Budget and Fiscal Services, Contracting and Procurement, Human Resources, Equal Employment Opportunity, Health and Safety, Training, Facilities and Fleet Management, Information Technology, and Business Services, including substantial participation in the formulation, operation, evaluation and implementation of administrative policies, processes, practices and reporting related to budget, fiscal, procurement, contracting, human resources, information technology, fleet, mailroom, reprographics, and facilities. The Deputy Director of Administrative Services, works closely with the Director, Chief Deputy Director, and senior management team to develop policies affecting all internal programs and activities, consults with management and staff on administrative matters, and acts as the department’s Equal Employment (EEO) Officer, Contracting and Procurement Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Chief Budget Officer.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento, California and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for applicants residing in California, in accordance with Government Code Section 14200 and the Department’s current telework policy. A hybrid schedule typically includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office a minimum of three days per week; however, the specific number of in-office days and the overall telework schedule are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Department based on operational needs, policy changes, or direction from State leadership. Employees may be required to report to their designated work location with minimal notice. Telework does not alter the terms and conditions of employment, essential job functions, or compliance with departmental policies.
