This position is part of the Office of Electricity, Department of Energy. As a General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will manage the North American Energy Resilience Model (NAERM), providing thought leadership in the area of grid modeling, assist in constructing new models and tools for addressing grid related questions, maintaining internal model and data operations, and develop and implement new analysis approaches and methods with limited oversight from the Director of Grid Modeling.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
- Leading and managing complex scientific or engineering projects and programs, particularly those without established precedents, from conception through successful execution, including defining objectives, allocating resources, and resolving significant technical hurdles.
- Serving as a primary technical authority or expert advisor, providing authoritative guidance and recommendations to senior leadership or major stakeholders on critical scientific or engineering matters, and provide technical advice for decisions that shape program direction and/or policy.
- Developing and implementing advanced scientific or engineering solutions, systems, or strategies that addressed novel and challenging technical problems, demonstrating the ability to assess new concepts, evaluate technological trends, and apply them to achieve significant organizational goals.
