Qualifications:
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Developing and maintaining liaison networks with intergovernmental stakeholders; advising internal and external stakeholders on intergovernmental matters; assisting in the preparation of staff for participation in hearings, briefings and presentation before congress, state and local government officials, and their intergovernmental associations regarding tribal matters; developing and implementing projects designed to increase the awareness of tribal leaders and other intergovernmental officials; advocating for the priorities of an agency or organization; and/or managing issues raised by government officials or other principals.
Applicants must demonstrate and provide evidence in at least 3 of the above areas to be qualified.
Education: Education cannot be substituted at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
