Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Warehouse Technician to manage the daily operations of our warehouse. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in staying organized, and has the mechanical ability to assemble furniture and safely operate warehouse equipment. The Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving shipments, organizing inventory, preparing merchandise for delivery, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming furniture shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for damage, verify quantities against packing lists, and report discrepancies.
- Stage, organize, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Move furniture, cartons, and pallets safely throughout the warehouse.
- Assemble furniture for showroom display, customer pickup, or delivery using hand and power tools.
- Assist with loading customer pickups and delivery vehicles.
- Operate a 26-foot box truck for local pickups, transfers, or deliveries as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory organization and assist with cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Perform basic maintenance on warehouse equipment and report repair needs.
- Communicate effectively with store management regarding inventory, deliveries, and warehouse operations.
- Work independently while managing daily priorities and maintaining productivity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse, furniture, logistics, or related experience.
- Experience operating a forklift (certification preferred or ability to become certified).
- Valid driver's license
- Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling furniture or similar products.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Load, unload, and move large furniture items safely.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and box trucks safely.
