You will work closely with exceptional talent, building on ofi’s purpose to “Be the Change for Good Food and a Healthy Future” and contributing to critical work for the business. As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will learn and contribute to a global organization, build a robust network, demonstrate leadership skills, and have some fun along the way.
This internship will provide an opportunity to work for a global food company and develop anunderstanding of the equipment and processes that contribute to new product development and process optimization.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineering Intern will learn about the chilisbusiness as they contribute developing the next generation of food processing at ofi. They will conduct research and analysis to support and streamline process improvement as well as work hands-on with our factory and engineering teams.
An ideal candidate should enjoy learning about food processing technology and getting hands-on with data collection & analysis. A good fit would be an individual who is a good collaborator with a high level of curiosity, a drive to improve equipment and process designs, and keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with factory operations teams to collect process data and perform analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collect and analyze production and trial data; provide observations and recommendations to the project team.
- Conduct mass balance and analyze flow for maximum output
- Update process flow diagrams based on findings
- Establish baseline data and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to support process improvements.
- Perform waste reduction analysis to support operational efficiency
- Present project results, recommendations, and implementation summaries to leadership at the end of the internship.
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related program.
- Proficient skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Foundational understanding of engineering software or simulation tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or ProSIM
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments
- Strong interest to learn about food processing and technology
- Travel may be required depending on project needs up to 25%
