An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a large-scale transformation programme within a highly operational and mission-critical environment. This role will play a key part in designing, migrating, and supporting complex enterprise network infrastructure across distribution centres, warehouse operations, corporate campuses, and cloud environments.
This position is ideally suited to a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong enterprise networking expertise and proven experience leading large-scale network migrations within operationally sensitive environments such as logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving network discovery, future-state architecture design, migration wave planning, and hands-on cutover execution across multiple physical sites. The role will focus heavily on hybrid cloud integration, SD-WAN transformation, warehouse device networking, and ensuring operational continuity throughout complex migration activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading enterprise-wide network discovery and dependency mapping across warehouses, campuses, and distribution centres
• Designing future-state cloud-first network architecture aligned to a GCP-centric operating model
• Developing SD-WAN and cloud-managed WAN strategies to replace legacy MPLS environments
• Designing and implementing segmentation strategies for operational technology and warehouse device networks
• Managing migration wave planning, cutover execution, rollback procedures, and operational readiness reviews
• Leading onsite network cutovers within distribution and warehouse facilities where uptime is business-critical
• Supporting wireless architecture planning for high-density warehouse environments including scanners, printers, and automation systems
• Implementing hybrid cloud connectivity across physical sites and GCP environments using Cloud VPN and Cloud Interconnect
• Developing operational documentation, runbooks, architecture decision records, and knowledge transfer processes
Candidates should demonstrate strong hands-on experience across:
• Enterprise networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, QoS, IPSec, and VLAN architecture
• Large-scale campus and warehouse networking environments
• GCP networking including VPC, Shared VPC, Cloud VPN, Cloud Router, Cloud DNS, and Cloud Interconnect
• SD-WAN technologies and WAN transformation projects
• Palo Alto or Cisco firewall technologies and network segmentation strategies
• Wireless networking and RF planning within operational warehouse environments
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Git-based change management
• Network observability and monitoring platforms including SolarWinds, Grafana, PRTG, and packet analysis tools
Experience leading network transformation programmes within M&A, carve-out, or enterprise separation projects would be highly advantageous.
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach combined with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively within fast-paced operational environments. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives while working alongside senior technical and programme leadership teams.
