Duties
- Conduct training sessions for dogs of all ages and temperaments, focusing on obedience, socialization, and behavior modification
- Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques during training and routine care
- Assess each dog’s temperament and develop customized training plans tailored to individual needs
- Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care tasks as needed to ensure overall well-being
- Educate pet owners on training techniques, behavior management, and pet care best practices
- Perform heavy lifting when required to assist with kennel cleaning, equipment setup, or transporting animals
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog training or animal handling, with a strong understanding of canine behavior principles
- Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable but not necessary
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices
- Knowledge of pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care routines
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Prior kennel experience or working in animal shelters is a plus
- Passion for animals combined with a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for ongoing learning.
