The Prototype Technician Intern assists in building, assembling, and testing prototypes used in engineering development. This role provides hands‑on experience with tools, fabrication methods, and early-stage product validation.
Responsibilities
- Support the assembly and build of mechanical or electrical prototypes.
- Prepare materials, parts, and components for prototype construction.
- Assist with basic machining, fabrication, soldering, wiring, or 3D printing (depending on discipline).
- Conduct functional and durability tests under engineer supervision.
- Document results, measurements, and observations.
- Maintain prototype lab tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians during prototype reviews.
- Enrolled in a technical university program (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with tools, workshop equipment, or lab instruments (school-level acceptable).
- Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical components.
- High attention to detail and strong manual skills.
- Good teamwork and communication abilities.
- Willingness to work in a laboratory and workshop environment.
