What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video Editing Intern position at OES Global, Inc.?
About OES Global
OES Global is a Pompano Beach based e-commerce company operating four specialty brands: Traffic Cones For Less, Hydration Depot, SD2K Valet, and Absorbents For Less. Five brands when you count the parent. We ship fast, we publish often, and we care about how every brand shows up online.
This is a real internship. You will cut content that goes live on our actual channels, not mock projects for a class portfolio.
The Role
We are looking for a paid video editing intern who wants to learn the craft on real footage, for real brands, with real deadlines.
You will work alongside our marketing team turning shoot footage into short videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Stories. We will teach you our standards, our templates, and our process. The technical skills you do not have yet, you will pick up here.
This is a track internship. Strong performers move into our entry level Multimedia Editor seat at the end of the program, with a longer term path to Social Media Manager.
What You Will Be Doing
Editing (primary focus):
- Cut short videos from raw footage we hand you
- Reformat the same footage into different sizes for different platforms (vertical for Reels and TikTok, square for feed, horizontal for YouTube)
- Add captions, music, and basic text overlays using our brand templates
- Export and hand off cuts for review
- Hit weekly volume goals we set with you based on your experience level
Helping on shoots:
- Tag along on brand shoots and help with simple tasks: holding lights, capturing extra angles on a phone or camera, keeping track of clips, and backing up footage at the end of the day
Light graphics:
- Drop in social graphics, story stickers, and simple visuals using brand templates we provide
What We Are Looking For
Currently enrolled in a Film, Video Production, Media Production, Multimedia, Graphic Design, or related program. This is for students who want hands on editing reps, not students who want to manage social accounts.
Basic skills we expect:
- You have edited videos before. Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Final Cut, or iMovie all count. Show us what you have.
- You can cut a clip to music and make it feel good.
- You understand the difference between vertical, square, and horizontal video.
- You can add captions to a video, even if you have only done it in CapCut.
- You can shoot watchable footage on a phone. Steady, in focus, decent lighting.
- You meet deadlines and respond to feedback.
What we will teach you:
- Premiere Pro and After Effects in a professional pipeline
- Color correction, audio cleanup, and motion graphics basics
- Brand consistency across five different audiences
- Platform specs, captioning workflows, and posting best practices
- The production side of social, not the influencer side
Bonus credit if you bring experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or any motion graphics tool. Familiarity with a real camera (not just a phone). A YouTube channel, TikTok account, or class projects you edited yourself.
The Growth Path
This is not a coffee runs internship. The path is real:
- First half: Learn our brands, templates, and editing standards. Cut volume goes up as your skills go up.
- Second half: Start owning specific brands or content types. Sit in on creative briefs. Begin contributing ideas.
- End of internship: Strong performers are offered our entry level Multimedia Editor seat. From there, the path opens to Social Media Manager over the following year.
This Is Not For You If
- You want to be in front of the camera more than behind a timeline.
- You want to build your own personal brand. You will be editing for our brands, not yours.
- You think social media is about trends and being online all day. We treat it like a production pipeline.
- You expect to own creative direction in week one. The marketing team owns concepts. You learn execution first.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program
- Able to commute to our Pompano Beach office on the days we agree on
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to start
What You Get
- A paid internship with hands on editing reps on live brand content
- Real publishing credits across five live brands
- Direct mentorship from our marketing and operations teams
- A clear path to a full time Multimedia Editor seat for strong performers
- A reel full of real work, not class assignments
