OEC is in the middle of a multi-year journey to modernize our infrastructure and applications, transforming how we build, deploy, and operate software at global scale. As Manager, Cloud DevOps, you’ll lead a team of multi-discipline engineers to design, automate, and operate our cloud environments (AWS) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and modern observability (DataDog) practices.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and partner across development, platform, and security teams. You’ll balance strategic leadership with technical execution to ensure OEC’s cloud foundation is secure, scalable, and reliable. The work you and your team do will directly enable the next generation of cloud-native platforms powering OEC’s global business.

What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of cross-disciplinary engineers including skillsets in devops, cloud, database administration, networking, and cybersecurity; fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and career development.
- Partner closely with Product Engineering to align infrastructure capabilities with the evolving needs of modernized cloud-native applications.
- Drive the design, automation, and operation of AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Chef, Packer, and modern cloud-native services.
- Guide the team in migrating on-prem workloads to AWS while modernizing the infrastructure to leverage cloud-native services (AWS) with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and common observability (Datadog).
- Partner with product, development, QA, and security teams to ensure seamless, secure, and reliable delivery of applications and services.
- Own technical delivery of infrastructure projects at scale — from migration to AWS to building cloud-native foundations.
- Champion best practices in automation, observability, cloud security, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align cloud infrastructure strategy with business objectives.
- Play an active role in recruiting, hiring, and shaping the engineering culture at OEC.
- 8 years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people management role.
- Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams, providing strategic direction, project oversight, and hands-on guidance.
- Deep understanding of well-architected design, multi-region redundancy, high availability, and distributed sytems.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (ECS, RDS, Lambda, Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.); Azure experience a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required; Chef, Packer, or similar tools a plus).
- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana/Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, driving technical delivery and professional growth.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service infrastructure capabilities for engineering teams.
- Strong foundation in cloud networking and security architecture at scale (VPC design, IAM strategy, encryption, compliance frameworks).
- Background in software engineering, with ability to contribute to or review application code for operational readiness.
- Hands-on experience in data engineering or database administration (Postgres, SQL Server, NoSQL) with a focus on performance tuning and scaling in cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives that improve developer experience, platform performance, and delivery velocity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — OR equivalent experience.

- Demonstrated ability to guide engineering teams through complex technical initiatives, balancing delivery with mentorship and professional development.

- Expert-level understanding of cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a track record of designing and operating scalable, resilient systems.
- Strong command of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (required), and configuration management with Chef or equivalent tools.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevOps tooling for application and infrastructure delivery.
- Adept at modern observability and performance monitoring, using tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Partnered with product engineering to deliver infrastructure aligned to application modernization and cloud-native adoption goals.
