Command and Control Systems Test Engineer - Mid-Level

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Command and Control (C2) Test Engineer supporting the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL under the TMAS III contract.

The tactical integration C2 team designs and executes developmental test events across multiple mission areas. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy learning new technology areas. Responsibilities span customized test configurations, system-of-systems testing, and lab infrastructure support. The C2 Test Engineer will serve as a member of the Command and Control Element supporting Air Base Air Defense Systems (ABADS) and battle management system testing.

This is a full-time, onsite position at Eglin AFB, FL with travel up to 30% CONOCONUS.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Perform as a member of the 46 TS C2 Test Team.
• Interface directly with System Program Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs, product development contractors, and Field Service Representatives.
• Plan, execute, and report on Command and Control systems/equipment/protocols that employ Air Base Air Defense Systems.
• Conduct test and evaluation activities for battle management systems.
• Apply radar fundamentals including sensors, apertures, receivers, signal processors, transceivers, and data formats.
• Demonstrate familiarity with radar operations and electronic countermeasures.
• Work with various radio networks and tactical data links.
• Support testing involving network, compute, and routing/switch devices (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
• Engage in technical engineering roles, review customer requirements, and participate in test planning.
• Develop and manage test plans, test procedures, and schedules; execute tests within customer constraints and produce timely test reports.
• Perform as a team member in planning and execution of "system-of-systems" testing.
• Author technical documents and conduct briefings and formal presentations.
• Travel to test locations as required to conduct tests, collect data, and perform data reduction.

Qualifications


Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret clearance; must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and 3-10 years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for education).

• Familiarity with DoD Joint Fires Coordination systems and Command and Control/Battle Management systems.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Ability to present technical details and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS

Education: Masters Degree

Certifications: Security , CompTIA, or similar certifications (preferred).

• Experience with IP, LOS, and BLOS tactical data links
• Experience with GPS systems
• Familiarity with ABADS-MD and TOC Family of Systems CONOPS
• Familiarity with C-sUAS tactics
• Knowledge of radar sensors and formats
• Familiarity with ALPS or MELPS surveillance systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft and Linux OS
• Familiarity with HAIPE encryption devices (KG-175F/N)
• Understanding of DT&E processes and Air Force C2 test methodologies (AFI 99-103)
• Knowledge of data analysis and system application software development concepts

Technical Skills

• Experience with DoD Joint Fires Coordination systems and concepts
• Experience with Command and Control/Battle Management systems
• Basic understanding of networking principles
• Ability to develop and execute C2 system test plans, procedures, and reports
• Strong understanding of radar fundamentals, sensors, apertures, receivers, signal processors, and data formats
• Familiarity with radar operations and electronic countermeasures
• Experience with various radio networks and tactical datalinks

• Proficiency with Microsoft and Linux operating systems (preferred)

• Familiarity with counter-small UAS (C-sUAS) tactics (preferred)

• Familiarity with Army Long Range Persistent Surveillance (ALPS) or Marine Expeditionary Long-Range Persistent Surveillance (MELPS) (preferred)
• Understanding of DT&E processes, Air Force C2 test methodologies, and AFI 99-103 (preferred)
• Knowledge of data analysis and system application software development concepts (preferred)
• Familiarity with HAIPE encryption devices including KG-175F/N (preferred)
