About the Role:

The HCBS Area Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programs within a designated geographic area. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that complies with all regulatory requirements and organizational standards. The supervisor is responsible for managing and supporting a team of direct care staff, coordinating service delivery, and fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and community partners. Through effective supervision, training, and performance management, the HCBS Area Supervisor drives continuous improvement in service outcomes and client satisfaction. Ultimately, this role contributes to enhancing the independence and quality of life for individuals receiving HCBS supports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in home and community-based services or a similar healthcare setting.
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience managing direct care staff.
  • Strong knowledge of HCBS regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the assigned area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or aging populations.
  • Certification in case management or healthcare supervision.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and data management systems.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse cultural populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support direct care staff to ensure adherence to care plans and service standards.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor service delivery and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, families, and community resources to facilitate comprehensive care.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing HCBS programs.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to promote staff development and retention.
  • Manage documentation, reporting, and data collection to support program accountability and quality assurance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve service effectiveness.
  • Respond to client and family inquiries or complaints with professionalism and timely resolution.
