The Role

The Inside Sales Representative drives aggressive, high-volume prospecting and account table-setting in direct partnership with an assigned Outside Sales Representative. This role owns the front end of the sales motion — identifying the right contacts, navigating gatekeepers, and converting cold accounts into qualified leads and scheduled meetings for the outside sales team. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates early in their sales career who are motivated, curious, and eager to master foundational skills.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a motivated, early-career sales professional to own the front end of our sales motion, driving high-volume prospecting and account table-setting in close partnership with an assigned Outside Sales Representative.
Base Pay Range: $40,000 to $60,000 [annual]
Bonus Eligible: No
Commission Eligible: Yes

What You’ll Do
We are seeking a motivated, early-career sales professional to own the front end of our sales motion, driving high-volume prospecting and account table-setting in close partnership with an assigned Outside Sales Representative.
- Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Execute high-volume outbound calling, emailing, and social outreach to prospective clients on a daily basis, building and maintaining targeted prospect and contact lists using ZoomInfo and other sourcing tools.
- Navigate gatekeepers and administrative assistants to identify and reach true decision-makers.
- Qualification & Meeting Setting
- Qualify prospect interest through initial discovery and secure introductory meetings for the Outside Sales Representative.
- Establish and grow ongoing contact engagement with key stakeholders at target accounts.
- Sales Partnership & Opportunity Development
- Work side-by-side with the assigned Outside Sales Representative to advance set opportunities into bids and RFQs, coordinating with pricing teams to ensure accurate, on-time bid and quote submission.
- Track bid/RFQ outcomes, identify awards, and follow up to confirm results and next steps.
- Data & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate opportunity data, activity logs, and lead data in Salesforce.com.
- Support performance tracking across outbound activity volume, contact engagement, and opportunity development to inform ongoing coaching and goal-setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years selling transportation/logistics services
- Able to identify a prospect's high-level pain point and connect it to the value proposition; uses basic give-and-take techniques to get past initial resistance from gatekeepers and prospects
- Leverages ZoomInfo and other sourcing tools to identify proper contacts, navigating assistants and front-line screens to reach decision-makers
- Knows key competitors and can effectively position Odyssey against them; delivers a clear value proposition and elevator pitch to earn the next meeting
- Works closely with the Outside Sales Representative and pricing team to translate set meetings into submitted bids/RFQs, tracking results through to award
