Odyssey House of Utah is seeking a Full-Time Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services (Out Reach Services) Coordinator!

Schedule: Monday - Friday with some Saturdays with flexibility between 8 am to 8 pm

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

Day In The Life

  • Provide Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services, ensuring safe and
  • judgment-free access to clean supplies and support.
  • Conduct client encounters, documenting distributed materials, education provided, and referrals made.
  • Provide education on safer use practices, overdose prevention, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Engage with clients in the community to build trust and connect them to resources.
  • Engage with clients in the community to build trust, support safer practices, and connect them to treatment and recovery resources with the goal of reducing reliance on Overdose Prevention and Response Services.
  • Make referrals to healthcare, housing, mental health, and substance use services as needed.
  • Safely handle biohazardous materials and ensure proper disposal of sharps.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and create a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Communicate with Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services and outreach teams to ensure service consistency.
  • Document client interactions and service data in Client Track and HR Tracker.
  • Provide or coordinate basic wound care support.

Weekly

  • Conduct rapid HCV and HIV testing, provide education, and deliver results counseling.
  • Assist clients with wound care and connect them with medical services.
  • Report testing events and Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services activities to Client Track and Kareo.
  • Attend Department of Health and SSP meetings to stay current on overdose prevention and response practices.
  • Maintain organized inventory of Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services supplies.
  • Coordinate kit assembly for participants, including safer use supplies and naloxone.
  • Train staff on Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services practices in collaboration with MA and front desk teams.
  • Manage naloxone supply relationships with Utah Naloxone and UDOH.

Monthly

  • Ensure compliance with state requirements for Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and
  • Response Services to remain in good standing with UDOH.
  • Submit grant reports and fulfill documentation requirements related to Life-Saving
  • Overdose Prevention and Response Services.
  • Order inventory through NASEN, Amazon, UDOH, and OH Procurement.
  • Monitor and update Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services and grant budgets.
  • Facilitate Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services training in partnership with UDOH and other organizations.
  • Track and analyze Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services outcomes and impact metrics to improve outreach strategies.

Requirements

Complete Required Certifications

  • Utah Naloxone Trainer Training (within six months).
  • Life-Saving Overdose Prevention and Response Services Navigator Training

(every two years).

  • Infectious Control Training (maintained as required).
  • HIV Testing within 6 Months
  • Hep C Testing within 6 Months

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, which may include background checks, fingerprinting, applicable sex offender registry screenings for Adult Residential roles, and other position-related verifications. Roles requiring driving are subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and valid Utah driver’s license.
