The Turret Driver is responsible for operating Turret material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area in VNA racking that reaches 65 feet in height.
- Order Picking
- Pull and prepare product for shipment.
- Ensure that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Operator will be required to operate at extreme heights of 65 feet with pallets back and forth up and down aisles that are 210 feet long with little clearance on either side of a VNA racked warehouse.
- Loading efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into P&D drop points.
- Equipment
- Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a Turret, Forklift, Clamp, push-pull or other powered equipment.
- Position also requires the use of RF equipment.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Inventory Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
- Assist in physical inventories.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Conduct cycle counts as requested.
- Promotes the organizational values of Trust, Team, and Opportunity (TTO) and the operating philosophy of SCOPE (Safety-Customers-Operations-People-Execution).
- Demonstrates safety consciousness at all times and reports safety questions/concerns.
- Promotes safety as a business value vs. business priority, through training, focusing, and informing others about company safety practices and procedures.
- Maintains a clean working environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
- Good communication skills (verbal & written); bilingual, English/Spanish preferred
- Hard working, dependable, safety conscious, and team oriented.
- Operates Forklift, Turret, and other industrial equipment as necessary
- This position requires OSHA certification and Turret recertification every 3 years
- No fear of heights as the VNA rack height is 65 feet.
- No fear of confined spaces. VNA racking has 8.5 inches clearance on either side in dense and tightly packed warehouse.
- No motion sickness due to substantial Turret cab sway at extreme heights.
- Must have good manual dexterity and use multiple hand and foot controls simultaneously.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Work bending and squatting.
- Able to make logical decisions.
- Work in cold refrigerated and frozen conditions.
- Must be able to work in freezer environment at -10 degrees for extended period of time.
