CDL Truck Driver

Odums' Sod is looking for a Full time CDL Truck Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of sod and equipment to our customers. You will be responsible for driving and maintaining the truck and trailer you will be assigned to, as well as working closely with the General Manger and Office Manager.

A valid CDL driver's license is required. Successful candidates must have a clean driving record, current medical card, minimum of three years of driving experience, and pass DOT required drug testing.

Position Requirements:

Experience with completing pre and post inspection sheets.

Knowledge of Electronic Logging Device is a plus, but not a requirement.

Driver needs to know how to properly secure sod and equipment for transportation.

Operate powered industrial vehicles that include forklifts, and piggy backs in a safe manner.

Drivers are paid hourly, and pay is based on driving experience.

All loads are located within the state of Florida, and all drivers are home every night.

Must be able to maintain records for tickets, returned pallets, returned tubes and timesheet.

Customarily lifts 20-30 pounds and periodically will be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with all customers and through responsible driving.

Abide all company safety policies as well as the state regulated laws of Department of Transportation, and FMCSA.

Ability to apply knowledge commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight unloading areas.

Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.

Posses excellent time management skills.
