What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor 2nd Shift position at ODM Tool & Mfg. Co., Inc.?
Department: Production
Reports To: Plant Manager
Authority: Provide Production personnel with training, assignments, and information as needed
Job Summary: Monitor Production priorities, coordinate plant activities, and document and communicate Production activity
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assign jobs for employees and distribute, and review, time tickets
- Provide instructions and training to employees
- Enforce safety policies and eliminate safety hazards
- Monitor employee performance
- Monitor the production flow and movement of work in progress
- Review job sheets and job setup documents for accuracy prior to running each job
- Note errors on job sheets and submit to Engineering for permanent correction, or on setup documents and submit to Manufacturing Engineer for correction
- Maintain necessary records, files, and reports of production activities
- Perform other special tasks as assigned
- Promptly communicate concerns relating to personnel, production orders, and/or production related equipment, including tooling, to the Plant Manager or applicable management
- Communicate concerns to 1st shift, particularly those noted in the previous bullet point, daily
- Secure the building at the end of shift when necessary
- Fully support improvements needed at ODM
- Ensure that all equipment has necessary supplies at all times (ie: packaging, lubricant, etc)
- Use only safe work practices, wear all required PPE on the job
- Report unsafe working conditions to direct supervisor/manager
- Demonstrate awareness to ISO 9001/14001, IATF 16949
- Enforce associated requirements of ISO 9001/14001, IATF 16949
- Observe and obey company policies, including but not limited to: General ODM Rules, Safety Rules, Code of Conduct / Anti-Bribery / Ethics Escalation
- Observe proprietary rights of ODM and its customer and suppliers at all times
Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to work and communicate well with others
- Experience in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
- Good manufacturing safety practices
- Minimum 1 year experience manufacturing within automotive industry
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual
- Strong work ethic and good attitude
- Basic awareness of ISO 9001/14001, IATF 16949
