Certified Medical Assistant Instructor
Reports to the Career Technical Training Supervisor. Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions, in designated subject area. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing students for the work force by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation.
- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning.
- Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
- Responsible for adequate classroom preparation.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records Department.
- Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps Forms.
- Responsible for supplies and equipment, making certain that security measures are taken.
- Accountable for cleanliness of classroom
- Prepares reports student/staff hours, requisitions reports, monthly student evaluations, etc.
- Attends required staff training sessions.
- Instructs on the CMA curriculum in accordance with Job Corps requirements and program specifications.
- Develops and prepares supplemental lessons and recommends curriculum changes as needed.
- Customize teaching methods to meet students' needs.
- Classroom management skills required in order to maintain a high level of discipline within the classroom setting to insure maximum learning.
- Counsels and motivates students regarding behavior, training, personal and/or study habits and problems that may arise.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and safety practices, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Florida
- Prefer extensive practical knowledge of CMA curriculum
- Classroom teaching experience (preferred)
- Valid Driver's license with acceptable driving record
