Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Low Voltage Security Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with CCTV systems, access control, and infrastructure cabling. This position requires a motivated, dependable technician who is capable of working independently or as part of a team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage security systems for commercial and residential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems (analog and IP-based).
- Install and configure access control systems including door hardware, readers, and software.
- Perform infrastructure cabling including pulling, terminating, and testing of Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cables.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and maintenance work.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all job sites.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in low voltage security system installation and maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of CCTV (analog & IP), access control systems, and structured cabling.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and confined spaces as required.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus):
- BICSI Certification
- Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Hanwha or similar product certifications
- Axis or Milestone training
