NIGHT AUDITOR

About the Role:

The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of a hotel during overnight hours. This position is responsible for reconciling daily financial transactions, auditing guest accounts, and preparing accurate reports that support management decisions. The Night Auditor acts as the primary point of contact for guests during the night shift, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues that arise. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Night Auditor helps maintain the integrity of the hotel's financial records while contributing to a positive guest experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with hotel property management systems or similar software.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overnight shifts independently.
• Strong hospitality and customer-service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or related field.
• Previous experience as a night auditor or in a similar hospitality role.
• Proficiency with advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Reconcile daily revenue and prepare detailed audit reports for management review.
• Verify accuracy of guest accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Provide front desk support by checking in and checking out guests during overnight hours.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and efficiency.
• Monitor hotel security and safety protocols throughout the night shift.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and communication.
• Partiipate in ongoing learning, education and on the job training.
