This position will serve as a part time instructor in the Continuing Education department at Odessa College. The Typing Instructor will instruct students the basics of how to use a computer keyboard to type using home rows keys. Successful completion will result in a certification for the student.
Specific Position Duties
- Conduct in person Typing training sessions, as needed to meet demands, at Gregory D Williams Hall location.
- Flexible schedule and hours.
- Sessions will be 2- or 4-hour sessions until syllabus is completed.
- Instruct and assist students in understanding Typing techniques.
- Provide support and guidance to students as they progress in their Typing skills.
- Physical Demands
- The ability to perform work in a classroom and office setting
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Use of manual dexterity
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Standard classroom environment
