For 2026-2027 School Year

Purpose: The Instructional Coach, having both content and instructional expertise, will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction for teachers. In order to meet this purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide guided and personalized support based on the goals and identified needs of teachers.

Responsible to:  Odem Elementary School Principal (Reading K-2)

Payment Rate:  Certified Teacher Salary Schedule

Employment Term: 10 Month Qualifications:  Full or Part Time 

1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

2) Teaching Certification; Minimum of five years of successful teaching

3) Demonstrated knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills

4) Experience in researched-based instructional practices; assessment data driven instruction

5) Experience in instructional coaching or teacher leadership; teaching/learning processes

6) Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations. 

7) Effectively delivers quality professional development;  presentation and facilitation skills; interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection

8) Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and meeting deadlines

9) Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

1.) Certified Teacher – Texas Public Schools  (EC-4; EC-6; Elementary 1-8) (STR)

2.) Master’s degree preferred (not required)

3.)  Eight or more years of successful teaching experience (Reading K-2)

4.)  Depth of knowledge of reading, writing, and literacy development.
