POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the grocery store while managing office responsibilities, administrative tasks, vendor coordination, employees, inventory, and overall store organization. This position helps ensure the store operates efficiently, remains organized and compliant, and provides a positive experience for customers and employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Store Operations

  • Oversee daily grocery store operations.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers.
  • Monitor pricing, displays, signage, promotions, and merchandise.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory management.
  • Monitor product availability, rotation, expiration dates, and waste.
  • Coordinate with food and beverage distributors and local vendors.
  • Help manage receiving, invoices, deliveries, and vendor paperwork.
  • Ensure store policies and procedures are followed.
  • Address day-to-day customer and employee concerns.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.

Employee Management

  • Help schedule and coordinate employees.
  • Train employees on store procedures and expectations.
  • Assign daily tasks and follow up on completion.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and workplace standards.
  • Help maintain employee records and required documentation.
  • Communicate company policies and expectations to staff.
  • Support a professional, respectful, and productive workplace.

Office & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain office files, records, invoices, and business documentation.
  • Organize vendor and distributor paperwork.
  • Assist with payroll and employee paperwork.
  • Maintain required health department and compliance records.
  • Maintain the workplace operations binder and related documentation.
  • Track business expenses, invoices, and purchasing information.
  • Communicate with vendors, service providers, and business contacts.
  • Assist ownership with administrative projects and business planning.

Catering & Kitchen Support

  • Coordinate with kitchen/catering staff regarding store needs and catering production.
  • Help monitor catering orders, supplies, and scheduling.
  • Ensure catering paperwork and customer orders are organized.
  • Assist with catering inventory and purchasing when needed.
  • Support marketing and promotion of catering services.
  • Help ensure catering operations follow store policies and food-safety requirements.

Marketing & Merchandising

  • Assist with store promotions, weekly specials, and seasonal merchandising.
  • Help maintain the store's marketing materials and signage.
  • Support social media and promotional efforts.
  • Assist with merchandising of clothing, toys, kitchen supplies, gifts, and other store products.
  • Help promote catering and other specialty offerings.

  • Be willing to step in wherever needed to keep store operations running smoothly.

PHYSICAL / WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move grocery products, boxes, and supplies as needed.
  • Ability to work in a retail environment with frequent customer and employee interaction.
  • Ability to use computers, POS systems, phones, office equipment, and other store technology.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
