What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant position at ODD Fellows Home of Massachusetts?
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence in accordance with physician orders and established care plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy treatments as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility
Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient progress
Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment
Ensure patient safety at all times during therapy sessions
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines
