What are the responsibilities and job description for the Range Worker position at Oda Farm?
- Herding & Caring for Cattle
- Feeding Cattle
- Manure Management & Clean Up
- Fence Construction & Repair - Inspecting & Repairing fences to contain herds and open range cattle
- Feeding, Fattening, Watering Livestock
- Assisting with Breeding, Birthing, Raising, Weaning, Castration, Branding and General Care of Livestock
- Applying vaccinations to Livestock
- Examining livestock to detect diseases, illnesses, or other injuries; administering medical care to sick or injured livestock;
- Caring for the dogs that the workers use on the range to assist with herding or guarding the flock
- Feeding and caring for the horses that the workers use on the range to help with herding
- Loading animals into livestock trucks for movement to the range or to market
- Drinking Water Maintenance - Making sure drinking water is in good working order for watering cattle.
- Operating Machinery for Tractors & Backhoes - Required for all of the above tasks. Fence Construction/Repair post digging, Providing Hay and feed for Cattle,
- On call for up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and the workers spend the majority of the workdays during the contract period in the herding or production of livestock on the range.
