What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist position at ODA Community Developme?

The Radiologic Technologist provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs; in addition, the radiologic technologist may be directed by the Chief Medical Officer to perform other duties in accordance with funding agencies requirements, contractual agreements, and policies, procedures, and protocols established by ODA.

Duties and Responsibilities 


-       Maintains radiologic services in accordance with standards established by ODA, Beth Israel Medical Center, and with Federal, State and local standards which may apply.

-       Responsible for the technical aspects of radiologic safety.

-       Responsible for existing equipment and such contractual services as may be required.

-       Responsible for stock level, storage and utilization of equipment and supplies.

-       Preparation of reports, documents, statistical surveys and other data required.

-       Ability to obtain satisfactory radiographs by following set procedures and standards.

-       Sensitivity to people who may be under physical and emotional distress.

-       Operates X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.

-       Observes patient and machine during procedure.

-       Prepares and maintains records and files.

-       Cleans and makes minor adjustments to equipment.

-       Ensures that results are correctly entered into the EMR system, that they are assigned correctly and that the ordering provider is aware of abnormal results in a timely manner.

-       Acts as a liaison between ODA and the radiologist who reads the x-rays.

-       Gets x-ray results from radiologist expeditiously.


 

Qualifications

-       High school graduation or equivalent.

-       Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiographic Technologist (ARRT).

-       Ability to serve as member of health care team and communicate with clinicians, staff and patients
