What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapy Assistant position at ODA Community Developme?
An Occupational Therapy Assistant provides rehabilitative
services for children and adults under the direction of an occupational
therapist.
Responsibilities:
-Reviewing and confirming medical history in the EMR system; confirming purpose of treatment and recording patients’ progress with each appointment.
-Provide occupational therapy services for our outpatient clinic in compliance with policies and procedures established by ODA.
-Contribute to the modification of the intervention plan by exchanging information with the occupational therapist
-Provide quality patient care in conjunction with educational training of patient, family and supportive personnel.
-Be capable of providing pediatric based behavior management strategies that matches the needs of a child with developmental disabilities
Requirements:
-Graduate from an accredited program for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants.
-Current license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of New York
-Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development in order to provide age appropriate services
-Must have a strong commitment to a team dynamic as well as the ability to take initiative
-Must have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to effectively relate to all medical staff and patient
