Job Summary

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular health status.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including ophthalmologic issues such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care strategies, and proper use of prescribed treatments or corrective devices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans involving pediatrics, ophthalmology specialists, or primary care providers.
- Stay current with advancements in treatment, medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and medical coding practices to deliver high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Doctor of Optometry with active certification to practice.
- Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice settings with strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye.
- Familiarity with optical experience including fitting lenses and contact lenses.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye health and general medicine.
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Strong customer service skills combined with sales acumen for recommending appropriate vision products.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security.

Pay: $112,168.20 - $135,084.28 per year
