We are looking for hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee and support the institution’s systems infrastructure and daily IT operations. This role is ideal for a technically strong infrastructure professional who can lead operational initiatives while remaining deeply involved in systems administration, infrastructure management, and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and customer-focused service delivery to support WPI’s evolving technology environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, Security or Services environments.
- Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backups, and core systems
- Oversee day-to-day IT systems operations to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
- Lead infrastructure troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution across systems environments
- Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, upgrades, and optimization projects
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and application teams to maintain secure and scalable environments
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, and capacity planning activities
- Ensure documentation of systems architecture, configurations, processes, and operational procedures
- Assist with vendor coordination, technology evaluations, and infrastructure procurement activities
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and patch management initiatives
- Mentor junior systems administrators and provide operational leadership when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience managing enterprise systems infrastructure and operations
- Strong hands-on experience with: o Windows and/or Linux server administration o VMware or Hyper-V virtualization o Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and identity management o Backup and disaster recovery solutions o Storage infrastructure and system monitoring tools
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical leadership Coordinate with stakeholders, consultants, and technical teams for successful project delivery.
