About the Opportunity
Octo Search Partners is partnering with Elevated Community Health (ECH) to identify a Clinical Informatics Specialist for its integrated primary care, behavioral health, and dental teams in Frisco, Colorado. ECH is a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center providing integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services in a collaborative, team-based model of care across Summit County.
This is a newly dedicated role, created to give ECH's clinical teams a full-time, on-site Epic OCHIN expert. You will be the go-to person for anything EHR related, working directly with providers and staff to solve problems, streamline workflows, and make the system work the way care teams need it to. The role reports jointly to ECH's Primary Care Service Line Director and Behavioral Health Service Line Director, so you will have direct access to clinical leadership and a real voice in how the organization uses its technology. Internally, the position is titled EHR Applications Specialist.
What You Will Do
- Serve as ECH's primary on-site Epic OCHIN resource and point person for providers, nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health clinicians, dental teams, and front desk staff
- Round with departments to understand workflow pain points, then turn them into practical solutions
- Build and configure within Epic OCHIN, including templates, SmartPhrases, SmartSets, preference lists, order sets, and documentation tools
- Partner with OCHIN analysts and support teams on requests, upgrades, and issue resolution, and follow through on a regular cadence until issues are closed
- Coordinate testing and validation for Epic upgrades and new functionality
- Develop and deliver Epic training for new hires and existing staff, along with quick-reference guides and SOPs
- Support data integrity, UDS and quality reporting, and operational dashboards
- Lead EHR-related projects and change management as workflows evolve
Who We Are Looking For
- 3 years of hands-on Epic experience as an analyst, application specialist, or advanced super user, in OCHIN or any other Epic environment
- Epic certification strongly preferred; ECH will support OCHIN-specific training for candidates coming from other Epic environments
- Clinical background (RN, behavioral health clinician, MA, or similar) that moved into informatics is a strong plus
- Understanding of behavioral health workflows and documentation, or a genuine willingness to learn them; basic familiarity with trauma-informed care is a plus
- Experience with workflow analysis, process improvement, and training end users
- SQL, reporting tools, or healthcare analytics experience is a plus
- FQHC or community health experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; a master's degree is welcome but not required
- Ability to work on-site in Frisco and move between departments throughout the day; Colorado residence or willingness to relocate
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
