Job Title: Lead Android Engineer
Location: North Carolina (Hybrid – Local Only)
Duration: Contract to Hire
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Engineer to design and build high-performance mobile applications using modern Android technologies. The role involves leading development efforts, mentoring teams, and driving best practices in a collaborative Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, and implementation of native Android applications
- Mentor developers and enforce best practices in performance & architecture
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams
- Write clean, scalable code with unit/UI testing (JUnit, Espresso)
- Drive CI/CD, code quality, and production support activities
Required Skills:
- 10 years of software development; 5 years in Android
- Strong experience with Kotlin/Java and Android SDK
- Expertise in MVVM/MVI, data structures, and design patterns
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Gradle, Fastlane)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Room DB, Splunk/Honeycomb
- Strong Agile/Scrum experience
