OCS Industries, Inc. is expanding and seeking a highly motivated Assistant Construction Project Manager with strong management experience to join our team in the Hudson Valley, NY and Farmingdale, NY. As a growing, union, veteran-owned firm, we deliver complex heavy civil and development projects. We value leadership, integrity, teamwork, and commitment to hard work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of construction project management, from pre-construction planning and budgeting through execution and close-out, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align project objectives, resolve issues, and maintain quality standards.
- Assist with daily operations, scheduling, cost control, and safety compliance; forecast costs to complete and manage project budgets.
- Develop and manage subcontractor contracts, approve invoicing and change orders, and generate/approve payment applications.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, MEP drawings, and specifications; ensure constructability and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare and distribute weekly project progress reports; maintain all project documentation and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction management or as a superintendent, with a proven track record in heavy civil, architectural, or related sectors.
- Associate’s degree or completion of a construction technical trade school (bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred), a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teams and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
- Ethical foundation of hard work, persistence, and determination.
