The Oconto Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse Supervisor to support the health and wellness of our students. This leadership role oversees school health services, ensures high-quality nursing care, and collaborates with families, staff, and community healthcare providers to promote student success. The District Nurse Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This position supports student learning by addressing health-related barriers and promoting wellness across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between parents, the community, schools, and appropriate health professionals
- Assist in developing, delegating, and supervising appropriate treatment procedures
- Maintain records of services provided to students in accordance with confidentiality guidelines
- Assess the healthcare needs of students and provide health accommodations to reduce barriers to learning
- Provide direct nursing care for individual student health and illness needs during the school day, including emergency nursing services as necessary
- Assist in developing the health component of the IEP, 504 Plan, and emergency health plans through analysis and interpretation of medical and health data
- Participate as a contributing member of IEP teams, summarizing and documenting student health needs in formal reports
- Collaborate with team members to interpret medical histories and test results related to developmental and cognitive levels
- Provide counseling to students and families regarding health concerns and assist in accessing appropriate healthcare services
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare and nursing issues through professional development, seminars, conferences, and professional literature
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)
- Current CPR Certification (required)
- Experience in a school health room or school nursing (strongly preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully and positively with parents, staff, and students
Position Details:
- Flexible schedule.
- Approximately 20 hours per week (when school is in session).
- Approximately 40 hours throughout the summer.
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
