What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Laborer/Operator I & II position at Oconto County?
Oconto County Highway Department is accepting applications for full time Laborer/Operator I & II positions. Pay rate is starting at $25.37/hour to $27.16/hour based on experience and CDL license status. We offer an excellent benefits package including enrollment in the state retirement system.
These positions are responsible for performing manual labor work of a routine nature in a wide variety of highway maintenance areas as directed. Will operate large trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, fork lifts, and various other maintenance related pieces of equipment occasionally. Will also help in the completion of highway maintenance duties. Works in other Highway Department positions as needed and requested, such as snow plowing and salting roads within Oconto County.
Finalists will be required to undergo a detailed background check, physical exam. Successful candidate must possess a current valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with A, B, D and N endorsements, or the ability to obtain a CDL with required endorsements within sixty (60) days of hire date.
