Prep Cook

Oconomowoc Lake Club is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays an important role in preparing ingredients, supporting kitchen stations, and helping ensure smooth, efficient service for member dining, private events, and club functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Previous kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily service, banquets, and special events
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion fruits, vegetables, proteins, and other ingredients
• Assist with preparing sauces, dressings, soups, salads, sides, and other menu items
• Follow recipes, prep lists, portion standards, and food presentation guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep area
• Label, date, store, and rotate food products properly
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed
• Support line cooks and other kitchen staff during service
• Help with dishwashing, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous prep cook, line cook, or kitchen experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
• Basic knife skills preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to work efficiently and stay organized
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
