What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Park Ranger position at Oconee State Park?
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
JOB PURPOSE / DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, assists with overall park operation, administrative, and maintenance duties in accordance with the Department.
- Collecting and accounting for revenue.
- Assist with traffic management and parking during park events.
- Routine maintenance, including trash collection and cleaning facilities.
- Assist with operations to include public use areas, retail operations, and other park facilities.
- Assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
- Some Park Interpretation.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- This position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights.
- Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Actual job location: Oconee Station State Historic Site and Oconee State Park
