What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Documentation Specialist position at OCONEE STATE BANK CORP?
This position is part of the Loan Administration Department which is key to our loan processing and booking.
This team member will prescreen and prepare loan documentation based upon information submitted by the lending staff. They will also ensure that loan documents are accurate and in compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal loan policy. Should anything not meet Bank requirements, this team member will work with the lender to ensure receipt of updated information.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Confirm with lending staff the review and clearing of existing collateral exceptions on renewal loans prior to releasing documents
- Ensure all loan requests include proper approval prior to preparing loan documentation
- Prepare accurate in-house loan documentation for commercial loans and consumer real estate loans in accordance with Bank policy and regulatory requirements
- Follow up with loan officers and CLS team members on erroneous and missing loan documents after closing
- Review/audit all executed loan documentation packages to ensure all forms have been completed and signed in accordance with bank policy and procedures
- Stay current with knowledge of Bank policies and regulatory requirements appropriate to lending and ensure loan packages/documents adhere to and are in alignment with both Internal & Regulatory requirements
- Handle various duties as assigned by Loan Operations Manager, including but not limited to release of collateral, closing of paid out files, and Synergy file review.
EXPERIENCE | QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
- High School Education or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in handling loan documents and processing loan files
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility to handle loan documentation from multiple lenders
- Talented verbal and written communicator
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
