General Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Operations, ensures active treatment is continually provided to all Self Advocates in the Community Training Homes under his/her supervision based on their identified developmental, behavioral, and social needs.

Specific Duties:

1. Assists in the development of each Residential Support Plan and assists as needed in scheduling Support Plan meetings.

2. Monitor Residential Support Plans for accuracy, compliance and to ensure they are in date.

3. Assists the House Managers in completing needed Assessments and Evaluations and monitors them monthly.

4. Assists House Managers in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training Direct Support Staff.

5. Assists House Managers in developing work schedules that cover all shifts while limiting over-time.

6. Available to cover shifts as needed.

7. Assumes duties of House Managers as needed.

8. Ensures House Managers and Direct Support staff are paid correctly by approving time cards on time.

9. Assists Director of Operations in interviewing and hiring House Managers.

10. Fiscally accountable for the CTH budgets and completes purchases requisitions and gets approval prior to making purchases.

11. Participates in the scheduling of Support Team meetings and attends as needed.

12. Ensures quarterly site visit recommendations are completed on time.

13. Ensures House Managers are uploading documents to Therap and trains staff/assists with the process.

14. Monitors residential monthly summaries and makes recommendations for updates/changes as needed.

15. Completes monthly ISP reviews for each CTH advocate.

16. Reviews quarterly Pow Wow’s and addresses areas of concern.

17. Ensures each CTH has fully operational vehicles, equipment, supplies, furniture, and appliances. Completes maintenance requests on time. Makes recommendations to replace/repair equipment.

18. Completes minimum of one monthly site visit to each CTH to review all documentation.

19. Ensures each advocate has a current lease.

20. Reviews and approves the advocates’ personal funds requests.

21. Assists House Managers in preparing for quarterly psychotropic drug review clinics and attends/participates.

22. Reviews Human Rights Committee forms completed by House Managers to ensures they are complete and accurate. Attends the meetings.

23. Stives to ensure 80% attendance for each advocate. Assists House Managers in completing ResLogs.

24. Communicates with advocates, parents/guardians, family members and primary contacts as needed.

25. Assists Director of Operations in completing Critical Incident reports and ANE reports.

26. Completes annual Job Performance Appraisal on House Managers and assists in completing them on Direct Support Staff.

27. Is an active member of the Admissions Committee and assists with interviewing advocates for admission.

28. Communicates regularly with Nursing to ensure advocates’ medical needs are met.

29. Participates with the on-call rotation.

30. Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of BSPs.

31. Meets with Director of Operations frequently to identify and address each CTH.

32. Ensures all House Managers and Direct Support staff maintain training.

33. Meets with House Managers to review each CTH.

34. Knowledgeable with SCDDSN standards.

35. Assists House Managers in the preparation of all reviews.

36. Other related duties as requested.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Experience with supervising Direct Support Staff. Agency administered reading/writing skills test acceptable in lieu of diploma/GED. Valid driver’s license. Satisfactory criminal background check. Satisfactory driving record. Satisfactory record with the South Carolina Department of Social Services Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry. If resident of South Carolina for less than 1 year, a satisfactory record with the most recent state of domicile’s Abuse and Neglect Registry.

Hours of Work: 8:00am to 4:00pm or as needed or directed due to job need. Nights and weekends as needed including on-call rotation.

Specific Skills or Attributes: Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to relate to and communicate with the residents, parents, staff, visitors, professional providers to the residents, and the general public.

Physical Abilities Required: Including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing, balancing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, smelling, communication, writing, reading, driving, (including at night), counting, and running. Physical requirements include very heavy work or lifting with assistance. Visual activity must be accurate enough to write and read small print and to record data. Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environments and may be subject to extremes of heat or cold for short periods of time. Employee is subject to noise and hazards including but not limited to the possibilities of physical assault, property destruction and infections. Employee is also subject to wear protective clothing to prevent infections.
